Hudson. The Hudson was in for it's special survey, with work required ranging from mechanical, steelwork and blasting and painting below the waterline. The dry-docking marked the second by the Hudson over the past eight month period, following an extensive high pressure hydro-blasting and paint job on all exterior surfaces above the waterline in the summer. Joining the Hudson in dry dock some days later for an emergency dry-docking, was the GORTHON LINES Forest Product Carrier, Alida Gorthon. Work required to the Alida Gorthon included the repair of a badly twisted rudder stock. Taking advantage of the time in dry-dock, GORTHON LINES also decided to have the intermediate dry-docking survey requirements completed by VERREAULT as well. Both vessels departed the dry dock earlier this week. With a number of other vessels lined up over the next several weeks and months, 2005 is shaping up to be an extremely busy year for VERREAULT.
