HULL 2000-02 (SIR JOHN FRANKLIN) UPDATE

Work on the Hull 2000-02 (Sir John Franklin) is advancing, with several stages of it's conversion into an Arctic research platform well underway. Included in these advancements are the gutting, sandblasting and refitting of the stern maindeck in preparation of the installation of laboratory facilities which are currently under construction on site. Also in progress is the preparation of several decks that will house the future moon pool and related facilities, a major component of which is the installation of a hydraulic door that will allow researchers access to the waters below the vessel. As reported previously, the transformation of the vessel is expected to last until early August.

FAROCAN INC. BRINGS KINGUK AND AQVIQ TO VERREAULT NAVIGATION

Also currently in dry dock is the FAROCAN inc. shrimp fishing and processing vessel Kinguk. The Kinguk is in for repairs and maintenance services and is expected to depart in mid July. It's visit to VERREAULT NAVIGATION inc. will be followed by it's sister ship, the Aqviq, which will undergo similar work in late July.

RIGEL'S M/V JADE STAR DEPARTS VERREAULT NAVIGATION

Finally, VERREAULT NAVIGATION inc. is also happy to report the completion of work on the RIGEL SHIPPING CANADA inc. tanker M/V Jade Star. The timely departure of the vessel on Saturday, June 14th made for a brief but productive stay at Les Méchins. The vessel spent 9 days in dry dock and an additional 2 days at the federal wharf for work and maintenance that included mechanical and steelwork services, as well as sandblasting and painting of the hull. Of the other major work performed, the vessel's time in dry dock saw VERREAULT NAVIGATION replace several sections of steel on the hull of the vessel.
